Meet Kate, Founder & Designer

I began my career in the fashion industry, which eventually evolved into design. Since returning to school for interior design nine years ago, I have worked for large design firms, boutique design studios, and as a freelancer, gaining experience in all levels of design, from renovations and new builds to space planning and full-scale furniture plans. I enjoy helping clients with everything from a simple paint selection to walking through full construction plans, finalizing finishes and fixtures, or finding the perfect piece of furniture to complete their space. I know firsthand how your home and your wardrobe shape how you feel each day. With years of experience in interiors and a passion for personal styling, I feel confident in helping people create spaces and wardrobes that they genuinely love and that feel functional for their everyday life.

Causes We Deeply Care About

A portion of profits from select pet pieces at Lola James supports Dog Aid, an organization doing meaningful work for dogs who are forced to live outside year-round in Detroit. Anyone who knows me knows Nani, whose story inspired my commitment to help dogs who deserve safety, comfort, and a better life.

Dog Aid focuses on creating real change through initiatives such as building secure fencing to give dogs a chance to live without a chain, providing proper outdoor shelters, offering spay/neuter services, and providing families with the necessary tools, education, and supplies to care for their pets.

By choosing select pet items, you’re helping give support and second chances to dogs who need it most.
